Yes, it is that time of the week again – time to see what the club has been up to!
Has it been a week already?! There is lots of get through this week, but just a quick reminder that the roundup is here to celebrate all the achievements of the members of the Dub Runners. It doesn’t matter if you have a world record, a personal best or you had the worst run ever (it happens) – we still want to celebrate it, so don’t be afraid to let me know any results. I went to my therapist over the weekend, and he told me that I have a preoccupation with vengeance… well, I’ll show him!
Row Valley Triathlon
It looks like Jane took me at my word last week when I said that we should give a triathlon a tri (it’s still not funny is it?!). Saturday in Limavady was the annual Roe Volley event: swim, cycle and a run – and we had a single representative in the North West:
Congratulations Jane, and really well done on that time – be thankful that the weather wasn’t worse, as it took a bad turn later on Saturday afternoon. A little birdie also told me that Jane was first in her age category – so a double victory for Jane!
What a name for a race – the Dunblame Hydro 7.5 mile race was on Scotland on Sunday morning. It was a damp, cool morning, but that didn’t stop the crowds taking part. Once again, we had a single representative across the water in Scotland:
Way to go Jenny! What a fantastic time, especially over what looked to be quite a hilly race as well. Anyone know why the race is seven and half miles..?
And we round off the roundup as we do every week looking at the club’s Parkrun results! There were ideal conditions on Saturday morning for a nice jog around the park – and that is exactly what quite a lot of the club did:
|Roisin BYRNE||00:22:58||2nd Female!|
|John BOYLE||00:23:10||New PB!|
|Rebecca FITZGERALD||01:26:00||New PB!|
|James SHERIDAN||00:22:02||New PB!|
|Rachel Tessa BOLT||00:23:06|
|Mike SMITH||00:23:12||New PB!|
|Noel KELLY||00:18:52||2nd Male! PB!|
Really well done to everyone for getting out on Saturday morning – it never gets any easier! Special mentions this week go out to: Roisin who was the second female across the line at Waterworks and Noel who was the second male across the line in Johnstown. Also, congratulations on setting new PBs to John (in Victoria), Rebecca (in Queen’s) and James (in Ormeau). Final mention this week to Mike – who just completed his 35th Parkun, Mike is attempting to do 50 Parkruns in 50 different courses – only 15 more to go!!
Want your name here – simple, make sure you’re registered as a Dub Runner on your Parkrun profile!
That is it for another week! You’re a great bunch for putting up with those roundups and my jokes as well, but I have a sad story to share with you all – I never wanted to believe that my friend was stealing from his job as a road worker… but when I was over at his house the other evening, all the signs were there.
Keep on running!
Live long and prosper.
