The penultimate forest run and some parkruns over the jump!
It is fantastic to see so many at the club these evenings, for those who don’t know, the roundup is here to celebrate anyone and everyone in the club who was out and about racing over the past week. I must tell you all about the dream I had last night, I was driving round a roundabout using one hand, and flipping pancakes with the other – I was tossing and turning all night.
Run Forest Run: Antrim Castle
The penultimate race of the Born 2 Run Belfast Telegraph 10k series took place in the scenic grounds of Antrim Castle on Saturday morning. The dry but blustery conditions left some parts of the mostly flat route tougher than they needed to be with a strong headwind. We had a handful of Dub’s making the trip to the race:
Great running folks on what I hear was quite scenic route on Saturday morning. It is always good to get your weekend run over nice and early so you can relax for the rest of the weekend. Fantastic running from all concerned and now don’t forget that the final race of the series is in Castlewellan on Saturday 27th February.
Finally, wrapping up the roundup – as usual – is our old favourite, the weekly parkrun. We had members taking parts in lots of cool events this week, with representatives at five of the runs in the North and two at events in the South. Not just that, but it was great to see so many of you posting such great times:
|James SHERIDAN||00:22:07||Newbie PB!|
|Alastair KING||00:22:39||Newbie PB!|
|Ronan O'FLAHERTY||00:25:18||Newbie PB!|
|Kathy MAYHEW||00:26:44||Newbie PB!|
Great to see the big numbers getting up early staying up as we head into February, really well done to everyone! Special mentions this week are all for newbie PBs at the various events: James and Alastair (at Antrim), Ronan (at Letterkenny) and Kathy (at Sligo).
New to the club and want your name in the roundup? T’is easy to get here, all you have to do is ensure that you’re listed as a ‘Dub Runner’ on parkrun or on any race that you enter! I do all the hard work; all you have to do is the easy part – run! My missus and I had another argument where she threw a bottle of Omega 3 capsules at me. It’s okay though – I only have super-fish-oil injuries!
Keep on running!
Live long and prosper.
