This week’s roundup has an international flavour to it – find out more over the jump!
Fancy meeting you here! Welcome to a (rather warm) edition of the weekly roundup, your window into the running livrs of the Dub Runners. We’ll find out what everyone has been up to in a mintute, but I am having some trouble in work today. I searched google for ‘Lost Medieval Servant Boy’ and it came back with “Page Not Found”! Moving on to the reuslts!
Du Motion: Dubrovnik Half Marathon
Yea – I try my best to cover everything, but no one told me about this one!! Last Sunday, 1st May, the Dubrovnik half marathon was raced along what appeared to be a very sceneic, if a little hilly at times, costal path. We had just the one Dub experiencing the Croatian culture:
|417||Anne Marie Ryan||02:17:29||New PB!|
Great running in that heat, and let’s not forget a personal best time over the half marathon distance too! Absolutely fanstastic – and we all hope that you got to enjoy some of a holiday too while you were out there!
Why do I feel the need to play this music? A gorgeous, sunny and warm Wednesday evening met awaited participants as they descended upon Silverstone race track (not the village as I initially assumed) for a race – not on four wheels, but on two legs! The iconic route for the 10k event was two laps around the historic Silverstone Formula 1 course, before taking the chequered flag on the line. We had one driver in pole position for the event:
That is great running, on what looked to be (from the photographs) a fantastic, if warm evening. Thanks too for the sneaky photographs for the roundup – and we hope that you’re making the most of a short break and making a short holiday of it all!
For some, Saturday morning is a time to ease yourself into a weekend routine – forget about the hassle of the past week, and preparepare yourself mentally for the week ahead. On the other hand, for us Dubs it is an excuse to get up early and go for a run around the parks to blow away the cobwebs. This week, that is exactly what so many of us decided to do:
|Alastair KING||00:19:22||New PB!|
|James SHERIDAN||00:22:00||New PB!|
Woo-who! really well done everyone, itm is aleays great to hear and see so many of us out and about on a Saturday morning! Just two new personal best course times this week, across the line was Alastair (at Ormeau) and James (at Fallcarragh) just a second shy of a sub 22 parkrun!
Thanks to my little birdies for their spy work dyirng the week in helping to put all this together! Absolutely magic! Look, I’m not saying that I am absent minded, but last night I plugged my electric blanket into the toaster and kept popping out of bed.
Keep on running!
Live long and prosper.
